My approach to counselling

Hi there! I’m Sophie Ollin, a Bristol-based counsellor offering online and in-person therapy for adults. I’m a qualified counsellor (FdA Counselling, University of Plymouth) with 15 years of experience across NHS mental health services and private practice, including substantial trauma-focused work.

I tailor my approach to you, blending an integrative, evidence-informed toolkit to help you feel more grounded, hopeful, and able to cope with what life throws at you.

I work with all adult client groups across diverse identities and experiences—whether you’re LGBTQ+, neurodiverse, or identify in another way—and I’m committed to a trauma-informed, inclusive, and ethical practice. I also adhere to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) ethical guidelines.

And yes, I’m a real person with a few passions outside the therapy room: I compete internationally as a strongwoman, I’m a dog mom to two dogs, and I love hiking. These adventures keep me grounded and remind me that progress is a journey we don’t have to take alone.

I believe it's vital for clients to feel comfortable in the therapy room and that how that looks and feels will differ for each person. Want to bring a fidget toy? Move the chairs? Sit on the floor? Doodle? Whatever makes you feel comfortable in the space, I'm open to it!

Drop me a message or book in a chat!

Bristol-based therapy that respects your pace and needs.

I work flexibly with individuals, offering short- and long-term therapy from dedicated therapy rooms in Bristol as well as online.
